By God’s design, his church—Jew and Gentile—is one. The Spirit has produced unity in Christ, regardless of cultural, ethnic, or socioeconomic differences. And yet this notion of the church united is frequently challenged and threatened in the age in which we live. One way in which it is threatened, particularly in an African context, is by the claim that Christianity is a white man’s religion.
